Christmas in Maryland

Dec. 23, 2007
What a memorable Christmas 2007! We flew on United from SNA to Chicago to BWI on December 23, 2007. Did you know that on United you can get Economy Plus seats for extra fee which gives you more leg room? Well somehow from SNA to Chicago, we had seats that were in Economy Plus and it was really comfortable with plenty of leg room even with the tray down. Now the Economy size seating was equal to a sardine can. very tight and absolutely no room. We landed in BWI around 11:00PM since we had a wonderful delay at O'Hare airport. Emily even said, " I don't like to fly through Chicago!". Our luggage did not arrive with us. We didn't have our luggage!!! ugh! This had never happened to us; so I was not a happy camper.

Went to Target to pick up some essentials since everything was in our luggage that never arrived to our destination. I needed my make-up especially eye brow liner. And I had to get Emily at least one pair of clean clothin g. I refused to buy myself any clothes because I didn't want to jinx our luggage. I wanted to believe and hope that our luggage would arrive on Dec 24th.
Went to dinner at Dave's relatives home Dr & Mrs Kim. Great food, wine, and company! Oh we also went to Christmas Eve service at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church, which is where Ji-Hyon, David's sister, attends.
David called the airlines around 11:20PM from the party; and they located our luggage. Said it will be delivered between 12:00AM - 4:00AM. But we didn't trust them so we decided to go to BWI ourselves and pick up our luggage. And so we got our stuff and had a wonderful Christmas. Here is a picture from the dinner party. There's Dr and Mrs Kim's kids: Jennie and Mike. And Ji-hyon, Lily, Willow, and Emily.

Dec 25, 2007 CHRISTMAS DAY!!!
Fun to watch Emily, Lily, and Willow open their presents. Emily was very excited to get Baby Alive, which is what she wanted. And she also got another Webkinz from Santa Ji-Hyon. Let see, how many Webkinz did Emily get this Christmas? 6!!! Yes SIX Webkinz this Christmas!!!
For dinner we went to Hunan Manor in Columbia, Maryland with everyone + Dr & Mrs Kim's family. Oh so much food! It's funny how that restaurant is super super crowded every Christmas! Guess no one wants to cook.

These are the Christmas presents Emily received in California prior to flying out to Maryland for Christmas.

Trip to WISP Ski Resort at Deep Creek Lake and also see my old house that I grew up in Frostburg. We went to the famous Hen House Restaurant which is famous for good fried chicken, chicken noodle soup, spare ribs, and seafood! Went snow tubing at WISP which Emily had a blast (see the video). Slept at Rocky Gap Hotel which was comfortable, clean, and nice. And breakfast at Bob Evans. Yummy!
We left on Dec 27th after seeing my old high school, my dad's office, hospital, and even the mall that I used to hang out with my friends. We saw Cracker Barrel for lunch for some good ol' comfort food!

This is a picture of me in front of Dad's office. Looks like Dr Shin whom my dad sold his practice to hasn't gotten the new signs; so he's using these cheap paper printouts! I know dad misses his office because every single patient that would come through that door just adored my dad. I think if one family member came; they brought the entire first and second generations to see my dad.
And last picture is Emily & daddy enjoying an Orange Julius smoothie.
