Canyon View 3rd Grade Open House

3rd Grade Open House was much more relaxed and less hectic than last year. With classical music playing in the background the class environment felt so serene and calm. I forgot to take pictures of friends. But I hope you will enjoy looking at some of the artwork and what she wrote this year. I could not take pictures of all the stories she wrote in 3rd grade but let's just say that Emily's desire to be a writer could actually happen. She has the creativity and imagination to write pretty well. And it showed from her writing at the beginning of 3rd grade and end of 3rd grade.

Can you tell this is an artist? This was ripping paper art.

Poem about a state. Emily did it on California

Emily's milestone that she thought of and wrote.

Winter break writing tidbit...

Winter break writing continued...

I took a picture of what Emily wrote about her dream...Oh I hope this dream comes true. Run, Emily, run!!!

An independent writing...To Emily, Carolyn and Joel are her cousins. We love them so much!

and keeps going. She remembers all the detail...

Emily loves the time with Carolyn and Joel...

Since we cannot see the Pyuns this summer, we HOPE we can see them sometime in fall or winter 2011
(that is Emily's prayer every night)

In conclusion to 3rd grade finishing up on June 15!

Emily's 3rd Grade School Play - Emperor's New Clothes

Emily had her 3rd grade school play on Friday, November 19, 2010. Emily was one of the three narrators for the play. Here is a condensed clip of the play. Hope you enjoy it. Oh the microphone was not working; so the narrators had to eject their voices loudly. We are proud of our little girl!

** Emily is holding onto the rail because she said standing on the edge of the stage made her nervous and she felt like she would fall down. So she's holding onto the rail **

Here are some pictures from the play as well.

Halloween Week at School

So this year there is no Halloween parade at Canyon View Elementary. But the kids were allowed to dress in colors of black, orange, and purple. Not as eventful as the past years, but still a fun day! The kids had pretzels, apples, and juices. No cookies, mini cupcakes. For craft it was a ghostly finger using molding clay, fake fingernails, and a blue pen. The party was from 12:30 - 1:30pm. So it was just enough time for the kids to kick back and have fun.  Next party will be Thanksgiving break.

The 3rd grade class have been busy preparing for the school play, "Emperor's New Clothes". And Emily is playing a part of a narrator. She had to try out for it and got selected. Oh she was very happy! So here she is saying her part and singing one of her favorite songs. She choreographed her own dance movement to this song. Thought it was fun to video tape it.
