Louie - Our Puppy

This is Louie Hugs Kim - our teacup yorkie

So this is Louie. We will be bringing Louie home from St Louis when we fly out there on August 12th from Dallas.

Why are we getting Louie and why is his name Louie???

First I have not had a good history in "keeping a dog." When I get stressed I tend to get rid of or get out of the tough situation. That's how I have always been all of my life. I've always wanted a dog but just didn't know how to keep a dog without getting so stressed out about it. But you know what they say, "three time is the charm". And Louie will be the third one.

Since we have alot of memories from St Louis and what St Louis has meant as far as what Emily went through with her SDR surgery, etc...and this being our final check-up for Emily, we wanted to have a lasting forever memory about what St Louis has meant to all of us. And what better way than to get a dog from a wonderful breeder in St Louis, pick up the dog after Emily's final check-up at St Louis Children's Hospital, and to give the puppy the name LOUIE for St Louis, of course!!!

Here is a picture the breeder sent to us. He is a teacup yorkie. And will be 3 1/2 pounds full grown.
We are all excited about Louie coming home.

I am quite nervous about the flight home with a puppy because I have never done it before and of course I am stressed about it. But having a calm and such a confident husband, I know everything will be okay.

More pics of Louie and Emily will be posted after he is home!!!

David & I have been watching Dog Whisperer to get tips too! I think we are ready and looking forward to this...

Louie, our little yorkie from St Louis

Well the first yorkie that we were set to pick up from St Louis is too fragile and may require more "work". (That is the puppy in the middle without a red scarf). He was sick for a week and the breeder said that he was down to 2 pounds. She had to force him to eat because he wouldn't and he is becoming a picky eater. So that was a concern from the breeder.

The breeder was concerned so she suggested another puppy. His name is Zorro. We will name him Louie. The breeder said Zorro is also a very mild and gentle male teacup yorkie. And he will be about 4 pounds full grown. Tad bit bigger than the first pup we agreed on. The first puppy would have been 3 1/2 pounds. Here's a picture from our breeder. She said Zorro is a happy pup, but would not take a good picture. We can't wait to bring Zorro - our Louie - to California!!!

Can you tell which one is Zorro and Louie?

Zorro has bandana on; Louie does not. We are bringing Zorro home. His name will be changed to Louie.
