Our Trip to Austin, Texas

Here are some pictures from our short trip to Austin, Texas. We arrived around 9:30pm at Austin Airport which looks so much like John Wayne Airport here in Irvine. Our main purpose for this trip is to visit and tour 6 potential private schools for Emily. So this is not the happiest trip for Emily, but she was a great sport through it all! And on our final day, we met with our realtor to tour about 7 homes. Think there are some areas that we do like, but trying to see where is the best location between the potential schools and work ---- that is IF we move 100%. As David says, we are still at 50% mark as far as our move is concerned.

Gotta get a picture with these cool guitars

Emily likes this guitar

Our rental car. Now headed to Westin Hotel @ The Domain

Lunch at Noble Pig after our 2nd school visit

Don't ask what I am doing...

Sitting in the hallway waiting at St Andrews School. This is a great school!

Admiring the mural that the kids did at St Andrews

Just finished the Open House at Regents School of Austin. Emily really liked this school.

Emily thought Classical Education @ Regents seemed pretty cool

Regents School of Austin's motto
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVID!!! YOU ARE NOW 41 YEARS OLD!!!
Emily made this special birthday poem for daddy. It's laminated too!

On Friday afternoon we went to Regents to meet with the Director.
She gave us a tour of the garden and pond which is part of the curriculum. Each grade takes care of the garden, animals, etc.. for hands-on experience & education. This is a picture of Emily next to the butterfly bush. You cannot see but there are TONS of monarch butterflies fluttering around the bushes. It was am amazing site!

Still at Regents. This is Emily's 1st close-up with a rooster.

Emily peeks at the goat

She gets to meet one of the horses at the farm @ Regents.

Now do you know why she is liking Regents???

"Hello, Horse! My name is Emily and I am from Califronia!"

Such a pretty horse. That is the Director in the back talking w/ David

Still continuing David's birthday, we went to a cute cupcake/ice cream shop called,  Lick It or Eat It.

You can write or draw on cupcake paper

Happy Birthday, David!!!! Bavarian cupcake was so good!!!

our notes!

Good stuff!

Heading out to Chuy's for some Tex/Mex and birthday dinner

While I was picking up some cough medicine for Emily, she picked up a bear

few bears. David was thinking of buying these and stuffing it in the suitcase.

Emily said let's just take the pink bear. Think David wanted the big brown bears!

After birthday dinner, we were trying to walk around the Domain Shopping Center, but it was sooooooo COLD!!!

Last day @ Westin Hotel. Emily doesn't want to wake up

Still sleeping or pretending to be..

Didn't know what the commotion was happening outside our hotel window. Then we see this! Indian Wedding!!!

Now some pictures of some homes we saw...
