New Chapter

It's been a hard few weeks for Emily who has been going through the ups and downs of not having her closest friend nearby. I can sense her sadness especially when she re-organized her board in her playroom and making signs like "Amanda and Emily BFF forever". Of course she added few other pictures of her other friends like Sydney and Lauren.

Last week Emily had a marathon of playdates. Even though she enjoyed all if it, I could sense that it was somewhat forced and she was really trying hard not to compare each of those playdates with those she had with Amanda.
I think Amanda was truly like a sister to Emily. That friendship was one of a kind- something one could only wish for even as an adult. My prayer is that she finds another great friend like Amanda at school, at church, at art, at piano, wherever she goes... I need to see that spark in Emily.
Today Emily was feeling down, quiet, just wanting to sleep and read. And so it has been a day to just cheer her up by going to her favorite place- Barnes and Noble.

School starts in few weeks and hopefully Emily can have some great close friends whom she clicks with. She's got friends but Emily was fortunate to experience what is the true definition of "genuine friendship".
My prayer for you, my sweet Emily, is for you to experience that genuine friendship in 4th grade and on.....
