Emily had celebrated her 3rd birthday party with new friends from Calvary Christian School. Emily's good friend Sydney (been friends since age 3 at preschool) came by too for the celebration even though she did not know anyone. Emily had a DIVA party from Traveling Tea Company with nails, light make-up, crafts, catwalk, and just loud laughter, dancing, and fun.

Back in November, we went to the Sawdust Arts Festival in Laguna Beach. Many local artists show up displaying their artwork and crafts. Emily was eye-ing this one particular necklaces. So David gave me a sign to distract Emily and take her to view other artwork. In the meantime he purchased this one of a kind necklace for Emily to give to her for her 10th birthday. It's simple and pretty. Emily was so happy and recognized where this necklace came from immediately! I love it!

David was inspired to build a one-of-a-kind headboard after he was browsing on pinterest.com. Personally I love that site and get inspired for recipes, designs, etc..
So once David had an idea, we went to a place run by Habitat for Humanity called RESTORE - which is like a thrift shop and all proceeds goes to Habitat for Humanity.
So he finds this french door for $15.00. It was pretty dingy and dirty. But check out the pictures below and see the beautiful creation that David made from this old door. I was blown away. I love it!!! My mom and dad were floored by how awesome this looks. My mom had no clue how this door could turn into a headboard. |
