Simple Poem

A simple poem from Emily just made my day! This is when you realize that being a mom is truly an amazing gift from God! And this is when I realize how thankful I am that I can stay at home and be there in every possible way for Emily. Oh there are days that I want to find a paying job and have the flexibility to be at home with Emily, go pick her up from school when the nurse calls and says Emily has a fever, and to be able to attend all of the school functions, volunteer, etc...But that is unrealistic and you have to sacrifice something. And for me? It's getting a paying job.

But you know what? God knows that I cannot handle too much stress on my plate. I wouldn't be able to do this and that and be good at it. But by focusing on being the best mom for Emily, well to me that is priceless. And you know what? I am pretty good at it, actually, and I do enjoy it (most of the time)!!!

And when I get a poem like this from Emily it makes me realize that I'm not doing too badly in raising Emily! Whew!

I asked her about each of the line on this poem she wrote to me from her RTI class today,
and this is Emily's response:
Hands: mommy, your hands are beautiful and move like petals especially when you are playing the piano.
Hair: Your hair is wavy especially in the morning! (haha)
Face: your make-up makes your face glittery like a gold necklace
Voice: You have a cute voice like little chirping birdies
Smile: I love when you are smiling. And I just love ice-cream!!!
