This was the first vacation that we took for an extended period of time doing the "touristy" stuff. And it was very fun and very memorable. We got to be tourists in New York, Washington DC, and Durham, North Carolina. A vacation that we will truly remember. David thought it would be super special to have this type of Easter Break to commemorate Emily's Miracle Surgery that she had 6 years ago on Easter Week...
In New York, we walked around a lot, ate lots of great food, and even got to see Mary Poppins. In Washington DC we went to see monuments, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, museums, and kept walking and walking. We even went to Annapolis, Maryland and ate at an amazing restaurant where they had the best crab soup and crab cake sandwich. Driving down to Durham, North Carolina was truly the highlight where David got to show Emily his university. We walked around his old engineering building and even took a picture in front of one of his professor's office. It was so awesome to hear David share where he ate, hung out, his dorms, etc...It was truly memorable.
We also stopped by Alexandria, Virginia and took a picture by MPR Associates where he walked prior to business school. Walking around Old Town Alexandria was a great way to walk down memory path where David and I had our first date.
It was truly amazing to share with Emily all of the special places where we could create new memories together as a family.
Enjoy the pictures!
